What does the pregnancy scan include
During the session we create a detailed 3D scan of your pregnant belly.
The scanning itself takes only a few minutes, but the appointment lasts approximately one hour.
We take ample time to guide you through the process, review poses together and make sure you feel comfortable throughout the session.
After the scan, we carefully review the result together and explore the different possibilities for creating your sculpture.
You will be able to view material samples, finishes and sizes, and discuss personal preferences in detail.

A 3D pregnancy scan is a non-medical scan that captures the shape of your pregnant body in three dimensions. The scan is used to create a personalized pregnancy sculpture that reflects your body exactly as it was during this moment of your pregnancy.
We recommend booking your 3D pregnancy scan from week 32 of pregnancy. At this stage, the belly has a beautiful, well-defined shape that works best for creating a sculpture.
A standard 3D pregnancy scan appointment takes approximately one hour. This includes time to prepare, scan calmly, review the scan together and discuss materials, finishes and options.
The scanning itself only takes a few minutes. The rest of the appointment is dedicated to guidance, reviewing the scan and answering any questions you may have.
Yes. The 3D pregnancy scan is completely safe for both mother and baby. We use a surface scanner that does not emit radiation, heat or sound and is purely visual.
No. After your scan, you can take time to decide. For a full scan an amount of €50 is charged, which is fully deducted on the order of your sculpture.

All pregnancy sculptures are produced in our atelier in the Netherlands. We use the same materials, techniques and quality standards for all Gravida sculptures, regardless of where the scan is made.
After your appointment, your scan is carefully prepared for production. You can then order your sculpture via our webshop, or choose to order during your scan appointment. Prices depend on the chosen material, size and finish.
Yes, you are welcome to bring your partner or a support person if that feels comfortable for you. Please keep in mind we have limited space in our scanstudio, so please bring a maximum of 1 extra person.
Most pregnancies are suitable for a 3D pregnancy scan. If you have specific questions or medical considerations, you are always welcome to contact us beforehand.
No, you do not need to be naked. You can wear clothing during the scan if that feels more comfortable.
It is also possible to wear underwear or a thong. If you prefer the underwear not to be visible in the final sculpture, we can digitally remove it afterwards.
In that case, we recommend wearing seamless underwear that does not cut into the skin or alter the natural shape of your body.
No. While Gravida mainly focuses on pregnancy scans, we also create powerful sculptures of non-pregnant female bodies.
If you are interested in a scan outside of pregnancy, you are welcome to contact us to discuss the possibilities.
At the moment, we do not offer mother-and-child scans on Curacao.
These scans require a different scanning technique and setup than we currently use here. We are happy to advise you on what is possible now and in the future.
